[Review] My Beauty Diary Vanilla Soufflé Face Scrub

Submitted by on 08.25.11 – 10:28 pm2 Comments | 1,535 views

The very first time I tried this product was at the Great Guardian Makeover roadshow at One Utama. I was quite impressed even just testing it once! But unfortunately, I was broke at that time, so when I finally had some cash on me, I went back to Guardian but I couldn’t find it. It took me weeks and finally I managed to find it at Guardian in Sunway Pyramid. Bought it and tested it straightaway, although I’ve only managed to blog about it now. Haha. ^///^

Anyway, the bottle itself is really cute.

My Beauty Diary Vanilla Souffle

Beauty Diary products are all really cute. Especially this range where everything is like stuff you would have at tea time, hence the name My Beauty Diary Sweet Tea Time. In this range they have Strawberry Yogurt Amino Acid Cleanser, Aloe Amino Acid Cleanser, Peach Soda Eye and Lip Makeup Remover and yummilicious face masks which they are famous for.

Anyway, the Vanilla Soufflé is a facial scrub which is a little different from what you normally get in other types of scrubs. For one, it is in the form of fluffy foam, and secondly, it does not contain granules in it.

Naked Face

Ok ok, ignore my naked face.. well, first thing is to get some of the foam out out. I use about the size of a ping pong ball.. well, maybe half of a ping pong ball. Hehe.

Vanilla Souffle Foam

Despite the cuteness of the bottle and the word “Vanilla” being used, there isn’t too much fragrance in the product, which is good as I hate those overly sweet smelling products. Becomes cloying and is definitely not very good to put so much fragrance on skin. Anyway, its quite easy to use. Just put all over the face – make sure face is wet before putting it!

Getting a Scrub

Then, just spread all over the face and rub in circular motion.

Rubbing it in

After rubbing for a while, there will be some residue – something like what you would get when you rub an eraser. This is your dead skin. When I first used it, there was soooo much. But after the initial usage and regular scrubs (about once a week or fortnightly), you can tell that your face is more radiant and have lesser dead skin.

Dead Skin

After rubbing every area of the face (not too hard okay?!), wash off all the gunk and.. ta-dah! Fresh and radiant skin! My skin felt really smooth and silky.

Smooth Skin

However, don’t expect miracles in just one application. Some of you might feel weird having all this gunk as if your face has been rubbed by an eraser, but I feel it is effective. Finish it off with your regular toner and moisturizer and voila!

Verdict

Pros: Removal of dead skin is awesome. Never knew I had that much residue.
Cons: At RM69.90, it is pretty pricey especially since it’s in foam form, the tendency to waste is even higher.

Price

RM69.90 for 120ml at Guardian outlets
