[Review] Pantene Nature Care range
I think of all the parts of my body, I spend most effort on my hair. I have pretty decent skin, but my hair has always been difficult to maintain and manage. Of course I want to be slimmer, have bigger boobs, longer legs and what-nots, but that’s besides the point. I always felt that the way I do up my hair makes a whole lot of difference when deciding my personality and style.
Well now, P&G Beauty and Grooming recently invited myself and a few other bloggers for a Pampering Session. It was then I was given a set of the new Pantene Nature Care range of products. So I thought I should try it all out and let you girlies know how the products are like.

First is the Pantene Nature Care Shampoo.
The bottle is slim, and I love the pop-open cap – easy to open with wet, slippery hands and there is no wastage due to spillage.

However, be warned that the shampoo itself is quite watery. Don’t expect some sticky, thick goo to come sliding out. So, don’t tilt the bottle to fast. At the moment, my hair is about waist-length. So normally it would take quite a lot of shampoo to get my entire length (and bulk) of hair squeaky clean. However, just like most of Pantene shampoos, all I need to use is less than a palm-size amount.. about the size of a 50 cent coin.

Just this amount, and there was enough lather to wash my hair easily. If somehow you think there isn’t enough, just add a little water to your hair, rub again and more lather will emerge.

After rinsing off, it was time to condition. One other thing, although there may be a lot of lather, washing off the shampoo was relatively easy. Just make sure not to overdo with the amount of shampoo used.
One thing I have to make clear; I don’t really use conditioners. My hair is very coarse, heavy and frizzy, not to mention pretty dry from the number of times I’ve abused it with chemical treatments like rebonding and dying. So, this time I skipped the conditioner and went straight to Pantene Nature Care Intense Treatment masque. I use hair masque the same way one would use a conditioner. It is a pretty expensive way of conditioning the hair though!
Please don’t use masque as a conditioner replacement if you have normal, oily or fine hair. Your hair might end up too oily or break easily since too much treatment will make your hair heavier at the ends.
Anyway, I also like the pop-up cap of the masque container. Most of the masque I use tend to come with screw-on caps which is very tedious to close after digging out a blob of the product. One thing though – if you leave the product on the floor of your shower, the inside might end up collecting the water as it seeps through the cap.

Never, ever put masque starting from your scalp. Always start from your ends and work up to the top. This is because your ends need most mousturizing, and if you over mousturize your scalp, you might end up with oily, dandruff-filled scalp. (Yuck!) You also don’t need a lot of the product. Just using three fingers to scoop some out should be enough, depending on your hair length. If you feel your hair doesn’t feel smooth after you’ve worked all the product through your hair, add a little bit more just to cover all over.

I usually tend to wash my hair, condition, then pin it up before rinsing off the conditioner. While my hair is pinned, I will soap my body and wash my face before rinsing off the conditioner/masque last.
Most people with very long hair tend to find it hard to dry their hair after a wash. Here’s a tip. Wrap your hair in a towel (preferably a small fresh hair towel) when you come out of the shower, and leave it in a turban for about 5-10 minutes. The towel will soak up all the remaining water and hence making it much easier to blow dry after without having to spend hours at it.

So far, I find using the shampoo and masque makes my hair pretty soft and slippery. Combing through was quite easy as the hair detangles quite easily. Btw, make sure to use a wide tooth comb to avoid breakage!

To ensure maximum moisturizing, I also used Pantene Nature Care Leave on Créme. Try to use this before you blow dry your hair, but not when your hair is still dripping wet. I have also tried using on dry hair. Works well too.

I use just two pumps of the creme for my entire hair – mostly on the ends though. Like I mentioned earlier, don’t over moisturize your scalp.

My ends felt softer and guess what? You can use this as a heat protectant before you blow your hair or subject your hair to any heated devices. It helps protect and lock-in moisture to prevent dry, frizzy hair. And no prevent split ends!

Verdict
Pros: Smells awesome with a nice flowery scent; don’t need to use a lot; cheaper than many salon brands.
Cons: Might be too lightweight for those with very thick, frizzy hair; too heavyweight for fine hair.
