Mini Facial at Home
I finally had some time to myself when the boys were out doing their own thing. Some peace and quiet! So since I’ve been out in the sun for quite a bit, I thought of giving my face a little pampering.
First I washed my face (since I was all sweaty and grimy) and only then did I do a scrub. I am currently using Skinz Infinite Cleansing Foam and I use it everyday, so ignore the water stains on it. Hehe. Love this facial wash as it is just nice for my weird skin; not to drying, yet not too oily. I notice gel wash tend to be oilier and foam wash can dry up the skin. This facial wash from Skinz is more balanced. So far, it has been kind to my skin.

As for facial scrub, I have been using St Ives for quite a while now; in fact, I have been using this brand since college! Hehe. I still find it nice to use, however, I don’t recommend this for those who have lots of breakouts as the granules are a little on the coarse side. It feels very natural though, as if I was using oats to scrub. Btw, try not to use this scrub too often – once a week is enough.

After the refreshing scrub, I went and dig my stash of facial stuff and found a pack of Kao Biore Pore Pack. Remember how popular it used to be long time ago? I wonder why it isn’t as popular now. Anyway, I wanted to get rid of some black heads on my nose, so I used it. It is rather easy to use. Just wet the nose area, remove the piece of white thingy from its plastic film, stick it on the nose and let it dry naturally.

Yeah, I look kind of funny. Hehe. Try not to leave it on too long or else it might get a little too stuck to your skin and a bit painful when pulling out. Make sure to pull it out when it is dry, and don’t use water to remove it or the blackheads won’t stick to the sticky part.

It actually works. Without having to poke my blackheads till they’re sore and red, this Pore Pack actually removes some blackheads. Only the super stubborn ones have to be removed when doing a professional facial.

After this, I did a nice facial mask. Got this My Beauty Diary Chocolate Mask from Guardian and thought to try it out.

It smells really sweet and chocolatey, however, I think this mask is made for people with tiny faces. The eye and mouth holes are just too small! I had to keep my mouth firmly closed to avoid getting the solution in my mouth. I doubt it tastes like chocolate. Haha. Be really careful when putting this on, as the paper is really thin and tear easily especially if you have long nails. (Yeah, it happened to me)

Since no one was home, I relaxed on the bed (making sure not to fall asleep) and put two pieces of Skinlite Cooling Cucumber Pads on my eyes. Got these from SaSa at a pretty cheap price. I don’t exactly remember the price, but it works quite well although sometimes I feel it stings my face. It is weird that sometimes it is ok, and at times it stings my face. So, if you want to try these out, I recommend to get those smaller packs, not the entire jar.

Trying to lay still for at least 15 minutes was not easy. I suppose I really am the type who can’t keep still not doing anything for long. >.<Well, after about 15 minutes, I took the mask off and rinse my face, ending the home facial session with an application of my favourite toner and night cream.

Yeah, notice all the age decelerating prints? I have to start using these as I am not getting any younger. T_T
So anyhow, I believe each and everyone of us can do our own facial at home at times and don’t need to go every other week to a professional. Saves a lot of money. Hehe.

Yeah, the Kao Biore nose blackhead peeler was once so popular even I use it. Later they even come out one for men. Usually I will use Bioderma makeup removerM before I do facial cleansing.
Do you still use it? Hehe
Try get the Biore pore stuff in black. You can see all the dirty stuff more visible :S
That’s really gross…..
