[Review] Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Bloom

Submitted by on 09.14.11 – 6:49 pmNo Comment | 1,590 views

I rarely use lipstick. Why? I am just too lazy to keep reapplying after eating and drinking (or even making out). Haha. So unless it is a special occasion, I usually just go for a lip stain. The most recent lip stain I’ve used was Lip Ice, but recently I’ve discovered something better.

I am now using Maybelline Color Bloom as I find the color is more flattering, and it is creamier to put on. There is also a more glossy look compared to Lip Ice. I hardly put lip gloss nowadays as I don’t like the stickiness most lip gloss tend to give out. And my lips are quite dry and chapped easily. So what’s better than to use a lip balm with colour; kinda killing two birds with one stone.

Here is the comparison before and after. I took the “after” photo about 1-2 minutes after I’ve applied the lip colour.

After Pink Blossom

Personally, I prefer the Peach Blossom color as it is more natural. The Pink Blossom is slightly darker and if you put out of your lips, you might have a stain on your skin which kinda sticks for a while.

The colour sticks on your lips whether you eat or drink. It lasts for a few hours before you need to reapply. I feel it is like applying lip balm. Easy to apply, glides on nicely and there is a fruity fragrance as you put it on. Thankfully the lip colour does not have any weird taste, and the smell isn’t too strong.

So if you are too lazy to put on the whole works on your lips – lip balm, lipstick, lip gloss, then maybe you can try something lighter for everyday use. I use it even without makeup on, so I won’t look so pale.

Pros
1. Quick natural colour stain on lips.
2. 2-in-1; colour and moisturizer.
3. Cheap!
4. Won’t come off when eating, drinking, kissing – you leave your mark everywhere.

Cons
1. Can stain skin if not careful with application.
2. Difficult to remove as it seeps into the cracks.

Pricing
RM14.90
